 Piano Tuning

Essex Piano Gallery's piano tuner has many years experience in this field.

Our piano tuner uses the traditional method of piano tuning. We do not use electronic devises as used by some piano tuners.

It is always recommended that a piano should be tuned regularly i.e. 2-3 times a year. This is regardless of whether it is played regularly or not. The reason for this is due to changes in the humidity and temperature of the piano's environment. As the soundboard expands and contracts, the tuning of the piano is effected. By keeping your piano regularly tuned, you can be rest assured that your piano is constantly up to concert pitch.

Where a piano hasn't been tuned for some while or it is below concert pitch, it is recommended to tune the piano every three months, slowly bringing it up to concert pitch. Once concert pitch is held, it then can be tuned 2-3 times a year.
